Introduction:

Commissioning and procurement was designed to make sure services were nearer to users and delivered by a range of providers, including the third sector. It was also intended to create a more sustainable future for the third sector. Is it working?

Third sector organisations report concerns about smaller community provision being sidelined and locally led solutions being lost.

In this conference we will explore the current situation and what changes are needed, with key agencies and thinkers. In particular we will look together at what is happening to user involvement, locally accountable services, third sector innovation and explore good examples of intelligent commissioning.
